Mother/ Baby gathering

I went to the Penang blogger/ MMB gathering last Sunday at Egate. I took Bryan with me and it is the first time that I took him out by myself. WooHoo…another first!

I met up with Angeleyes at Starbucks first. And Bryan get to meet up with Darrius, Angeleyes baby.

Actually I was at the blogger meet for only 15-20 minutes before going off to Old Town kopitiam for the MMB gathering. Allisia (from BM) also came for the gathering bringing along her 2 child – Jinny & Yang. Initially, Lilian wanted to join the MMB gathering as well, but as she is an extremely popular blogger, she did not manage to cabut per plan.

At Old Town, while Angeleyes and I got acquainted, Bryan & Darrius had a blast as well.

It is also Angeleyes birthday that day and she brought her home/ self made chocolate cake. Yummy yummy. Look at how the kids were eyeing her cake. :D

It was really a restaurant owner’s nightmare to have babies in the restaurants. Look at the mess the babies made on the floor. Got cranberries, bread, cereals, straws on the floor around the baby chairs.

I left after about 2 hours coz Bryan was really tired.

In fact he was so tired that he fell asleep almost immediately in the car and continue to sleep for another 2 hours after we arrived home.

P/S: If you think that all the babies/ children shown in this post is soooo cute, well of course they are. They are all breastfed babies!

Mommy, Daddy come with me

Bryan figured out that as long as mommy/ daddy is around, there is nothing to fear.

So the last few days, when Bryan wants to go somewhere, he will crawl to us. Get us to help him stand up, and then pull our hand to the direction that he wants to go.

He is not able to walk far unsupported yet, so he will get us to hold his hand and he will lead us to where he wants to go.

Dear Bryan, you are getting cleverer and cleverer each day. Mommy’s so proud of you!

Ant bite

The magic phrase that mom has trained Bryan on to prevent him from going into “forbidden places” is “mah yi yau” (ant bite). Mom has once shown Bryan a live ant, and then told him that “mah yi yau” and then pinch him. So he sort of got the message that ant bites are painful.

So when Bryan wants to wander off alone, we will say “Mah yi yau”, and he will quickly make a u-turn and come crawling fast-fast to us.

It works at times such as when we are in the living room and Bryan wants to wander to the kitchen or bedroom.

Sometimes when Bryan starts to wander, hubb will just say, “Go la, go la, …got mah-yi one errr…..” And Bryan will also pusing balik … :D :D

The only time this trick does not work is when there is someone else in that room. Somehow he figured that if someone is already there, and no mah yi yau, then there is nothing to fear as well.

You clever notty boy!

Caring ko-ko?

I finally get to go for my pre CNY facial. Went to MIL’s place for lunch and left while Bryan was taking his nap.

His cousin Jasmine came after I left and hubb tooked these photos of them together..

Awww…. Ain’t the 2 of them simply adorable?

Lost freedom

Before last week, normally we let Bryan roam freely around the house. Now, where ever he goes, we make sure he is within arms reach from us, especially hubb.

If I leave Bryan alone for one sec to go to our bedroom, hubb will also scold me “Whei, u leave your son alone like tat one ah? Later he fall down how?”

I guess after the series of accidents, we, are (or he is) a bit paranoid now. But can u blame us?

A weekend of accidents – Part III

Now is part III

My parents came to our house on Sunday (Feb4), and they too were heartbroken to see Bryan all blue black.

Later my dad and I was playing ball with Bryan at the living room floor. We will toss the ball to Bryan and he will toss it back to us. Then I bounced the ball, and Bryan crawled happily towards me to grab the ball.

As he was crawling, he tripped on my dad’s foot and Bryan fell face down to the floor (again). This time he fell on his lips, and his lips swell immediately. I think when he fell; he may have bitten his own lips as the top lips was bleeding.

(Sorry…this one no pic…too panic to think about photographing).

Dad was feeling so guilty and told my mom that he should not have stayed back at my house. He should have left early, and the “accident” would not have happen.

I told mom & dad to not feel guilty, as it is an accident. Things could have been much worse.

On both cases, we forgot about applying ice to the bruise immediately when he fell.

For Bryan’s lips, I was so worried that it will hurt when he wants to eat. I had cooked shell pasta with bolognaise sauce with lots of cheese for him. Hubb said that the sauce may sting his wounds as it is tomato based.

Luckily, Bryan had no difficulty eating his dinner. In fact, he loved it so much, that he actually “scolded” me when I slowed down in feeding him.

Later that night, when he is asleep, I put some Chinese medicated powder on the wounds.

Paed confirmed the next day that the lip wound have healed, dried up, no ulcer. Phew…luckily.

A weekend of accidents – Part II

If you notice, the title of my previous post is “Series of accident.” Yup, poor Bryan was very unlucky last weekend (Feb 3-4 weekn – too busy to post until now). So this is part II of the unlucky weekend.

Later on Saturday evening, he was playing with hubb at the living room. He was crawling about when he just suddenly lost his balance and knock his head on the floor. It was a really bad knock and he cried loudly…again for a few minutes.

Results of the knock….

Hubb and I were really very sakit hati to see him like this.

A weekend of accidents – Part I

Poor Bryan was involved in series of “accidents” last weekend. On Saturday morning, I was about to leave the house for my pre-CNY facial, when I heard a loud THUD and then “Wuaahhhhhhhhh.” He had climbed down from the sofa and was trying to hold on to the coffee table when he slipped and knocked the side of his eyes against the coffee table side.

I really panicked at that time and want to take him to see the PD immediately, any PD. His regular PD is located in town, so I told hubb to just take him to the nearest hospital to check. Hubb checked Bryan and says that there are no bleeding at the eye. He says that the injuries seem to be at skin level, so should be ok. Besides, Bryan stopped crying after 3 minutes, and was back to his active and happy self.

On Monday, my colleague said that she had a friend who had to wear thick glasses because her eyesight was damaged during a fall, and she did not receive prompt medical attention.

I panicked again, coz the skin around the eye is blue black now. Took him to see the PD that afternoon, and after a thorough check, PD confirmed that he is OK. And since Bryan did not have multiple vomits and are still active after the fall, he is OK.

Phew….i am so relieved to hear that. Hubb was worried too. He called me a few times and left sms asking me to confirm if his precious baby is ok.

Below are the photo taken 5 minutes after the fall, can see the bleeding.

and 3 days after the fall, all blue black. So kesian.
