I can tell the stars

Bryan loves looking at the stars and the moon. One of the reasons he looked forward to coming home with us is that he gets the chance to gaze at the stars and the moon as we walked to the car from my mother’s place and from our car to the apartment. He also has plenty of stars and moons in his room.

Tonight, as usual, as soon as he alight from the car, he started to look for the stars. Then he said, “Huey Chi” (mandarin, Fei Chi for aeroplane). I looked up and could see the distant blinking lights of an aeroplane flying by.

I was so surprised because he could tell that it is an aeroplane and not stars. Previously, he will just point to the blinking lights and say, “stars” and I never bother to correct him. I didn’t know that he will be able to tell the difference.

But he did, and i wonder how? Kids, they never fail to amaze us!

Once I read that if you put 2 monkeys side by side, young toddlers are able to tell the difference but not adults.
