All About Bryan and Dylan

The theme of the party is Barney. I have Barney party streamers, Barney party hat and of course a Barney cake!

But I was terribly disappointed with my Barney cake.

I picked up the cake – Longan & Lychee flavour on Sunday morning after breakfast. Then I went to my SIL to pick up her deep fryer, which I am borrowing to prepare for the party foods. Then I went to Tesco to pick up some last minute shopping items for the party.

All this pusing-pusing resulted in the cake melting and I have a Barney with disfigured mouth…BoooHooooo……

But luckily Bryan can still recognize that it is Barney and wasn’t complaining about the way Barney looked. I am not going to post a full pic of the cake as I am still sad over it. But u can see from the photo below how the icing had run around / below the eyes. Well the mouth is many many times worse. One corner is clearly disfigured.

I am quite upset with the bakery. When I went there to order, I had enquire about the Barney designs available. The lady told me that it is just one… hand drawn frosting. But today, I accompanied my fren to the same shop to order birthday cake for her daughter. And she showed my fren a whole catalogue of cake designs. And there are other Barney designs. These are not hand drawn but is actually a piece of sugar drawing that will be pasted on the cake. If she has shown me that last week, I would have ordered that too, and the designs may not have melted!

My only consolation was that the cake was delicious. There was hardly any leftover cake after the party.
