Ferry ride

It’s Labour day and it’s holiday. Bryan is especially happy when mommy and daddy don’t have to go to work. He knows that it is a non working day because we will laze around the house in the morning.

He will happily exclaim

“Mommy daddy mei you chuok kong” (mommy daddy not working)
“Pu yong chu Tumbletots” (No need to go to Tumbletots/ School)

Since it is a public holiday, we decided to do something special for Bryan - by taking him for his first ferry ride.

He has been asking us to take him to sit in boat and the ferry is the easiest thing to do.

So in the morning, after he had his drink of Horlicks + milk, we left for breakfast at hubb’s favourite nasi kandar shop for roti canai. Bryan had roti sardin and he loved it.

Then we left for the ferry ride. Being a non-working day, the queue at the ferry terminal was not long and soon we were on the ferry.

Bryan was a bit confused when we told him that he is already inside a “boat.” He kept saying “Chu chuo chuan” (go ride boat). It was only when the ferry was in the middle of the sea that he realized that he was indeed INSIDE a boat!

The ferry ride seemed shorter than I remembered. Maybe it was because Dylan did a major poop and i had to change him in the car. It was really difficult cause we had 2 baby chairs so we do not have much space in the car to begin with. THen we cannot open the door all the way because the cars are all parked tightly like sardins in the ferry.

When it was time to get off the ferry, Bryan was of course upset. The ride was too short for him. So we told him that we will go shopping and then come back for the ferry ride again.

We went to Sunway Carnival mall to shop. It wasn’t much there and we were still quite full from breakfast. So we just walked around, and before we left, we bought a peanut butter + butter waffle for Bryan because he had been asking for one. He had a photo of waffle in one of his books and he kept asking me if he can “eat” one. He loved it and finished almost the entire waffle.

The ferry ride home was much nicer as we got to drive to the upper deck of the ferry so the view was much nicer. Bryan enjoyed it tremendously.

Again, he did not want to get off the ferry. Protests and wail again!

It has been a long day for him and not long after we left the ferry, he fell asleep…
