Already so big?
I din realize how much my baby has grown until I saw these photos, taken 2 weeks ago…

Haizz…what do i expect. This lil kiddo is already 15 months. Yeah, I can’t wait for my baby to grow up and yet i feel that he is growing up too fast…
May Flowers
2 weeks ago, Bryan gave me this when I picked him up at school

As he gave me the flower, he said “Happy Mother’s Day Mummy. Thank you, I love you.” *KISS* *HUGGSSS*
So I got a pink carnation flower instead of a blue flower. Hehehe.
And last Monday, Bryan took these to school…

There are 7 flowers all together. 5 for the teachers, 1 for the principle and 1 for the auntie who helps with the cooking & cleaning. The school is still new, and currently there is only the 4 yr old class & the 18mth-3 year old class. But I know all the teachers do help to take care of all the kids, regardless of whether the kid is in their class or not. So everyone at school got a flower & a card.
I had also baked a peach cake for the teachers’ party on Saturday. They held one at the old school, just after Bryan’s weekend play session.
I tried to get Bryan to help as much as possible in the making of the flowers.
I “tried” to teach him how to fold the flower.
I wrote the teachers’ and his name in pencil and got him to trace it with his magic ink. This one he did ok as he has been doing a lot of writing exercise. But I had to watch and guide him or he will be scribbling all over the card.
I tried to get him to punch the holes for the card, but he did not have the strength to punch through the thick card.
Lastly, I got him to thread the ribbon through the flower stalk. This one he managed to do a few until he got bored.
And the portion that he enjoyed most?
Spraying the completed flowers with cologne…hahaha… I have a bottle of light fragrance cologne from one of the blog reviews and so I din care if how much he sprayed on the flowers. Hey, flowers must smell nice right, even paper flowers
The fragrance is very light, and I am sure most of it is gone by the time the teachers got it.
The last thing I taught him is to give each flower/card to the teachers and wish them Happy Teacher’s Day. But this, I am not sure if he did it right
Negotiations lesson

While the 2 kids were busy fighting negotiating with each other; one mummy was busy tending to her baby and the other mommy…busy taking their photos. Neither really bother to help the kids stop the fight…just look and giggle at their antics nia…
But to our pleasant surprise, both kids manage to solve the problem themselves, and they learn how to share and play with each other, without any adult intervention.
It really goes to prove that sometimes we adult really have to leave them alone – to learn and grow.
I love you too
Bryan: Mummy, i want to buy flowers for you.
Me: Huh? Flowers?
Bryan: Yes, I want to buy blue flowers for you.
Me: Why do you want to buy flowers for me.
Bryan: Because I love you ma….
Me: Awww…i love you too Bryan.
*Hugs* Hugs*
Scared of the sand, sea & waves
We took Dylan to the beach for the first time last weekend. I thought that he would have a blast playing with the sand and water.
But the moment his feet touched sand…he froze..and screamed.
He refused to come down at all…
Refuse to sit on the mat.
Refuse to play with sand. Daddy tried to tempt him by showing that how he can play with the shovel & stuff…Not interested.
Refuse to let daddy walk near the shore line.
Refuse to let ME go into the sea to fetch some water for the other kids. Guess he was scared that the waves may swallow him up.

Almost every single photo that we took of him has this pitiful look.

Can you see Dylan and hubb at the far back. While everyone is happily playing with sand, all Dylan wanna do is cling to his daddy.
He only lightened up much much later when it is snacks time.

Poor Dylan, mummy bring you here a couple more time to familiarize yourself ok. Then you can start having fun.

Bryan “reads” Chinese
I read a lot to Bryan but only English story books as I am a “banana”.
Lately, I have asked hub to read a Chinese story book to Bryan when he is taking care of them. Btw, I only have 1 chinese story book…which my friend lent to me.
It is meant for older kids…very little graphic. Most of the pages have only words.
But even then….I must praise hubb for his effort to make this book interesting to Bryan.
Within 2 weeks, Bryan can already read almost the entire story book.

Hubb said that he memorized most of the lines and he is not able to recognize most of the characters. It is impossible for him to recognize all that characters within such a short time.
But still you have to start somewhere right…and learning Chinese is a lot of memorizing work. In fact, he is able to correct hub when he reads a word wrongly.

There’s my lil smart boy teaching his lil brother how to read
. Dylan is showing a lot of interest in reading right now because he just love to do what his gege is doing.
Anyway, I am impressed as my boy is “reading” more Chinese words than me, and he is only 3 years old.
Bryan’s day care has started to teach mandarin at school and he is able to recite some poems in Mandarin to us.
“ren zi zhu, sin pen san,…” (there’s more but that’s all I can remember
”
So I bought this book – Tang Si (Tang Dynasty poems) because hubb said that the poems he recite are from this series. He had pointed out the book to me at the book store a couple of days earlier.
When I showed the book to Bryan and I told him that this book got the Ren zi zhu poem just like school one, he was very excited.
Mana tau…when hub look through the book after I bought it, the poem is not in there.
Why? Because I later found out fr WX’s mom that the poem Bryan recite are from San Chi Jing (3 word book) not from Tang Si. Luckily I got WX’s mom to calibrate with me on what our kids learn at school, esp on the Chinese portion.
Bryan was disappointed that the poem is not in there and he doesn’t want to read that book.
Grrrrr….. Geram-nya, waste my money. Luckily I bought it with 20% disc at Popular’s warehouse sale.
I’ll just have to keep it aside for a while and bring it out to him later. And gotta get that San Chi Jing book next.
Drawing
Bryan scribbles. He scribbles a LOT. Until recently, we cannot tell what he is drawing.
Few weeks ago, he started to drew faces. On everything. Circles, squares, rectangles, triangles….shapes or items with no shapes. Everything also have faces.
Then last weekend, his first milestone. He drew a butterfly.

Both hubb and I are so proud to see this drawing! Finally his drawings are going somewhere.
Oh yes, you see his name sticker at the top of the doodle board. We have already started to buy things in twos for the kids, and started to label those toys so that they learn to take care of their own things. If their own toy is spoilt…too bad
