Yesterday, hubb had to accompany his colleague from US for dinner & drinks. Bryan will complain if daddy is not around when he got home, so I always tell him that dad is at work. Once I told him daddy went “hek chiu” (drink beer). Wah..he nagged daddy for days after that for going to drink beer and not tucking him to bed.

Anyway, yesterday hub got back about 10pm and the kids are still wide awake. But he left for work early this morning and was gone by the time Bryan woke up.

Bryan: Where is daddy?
Mommy: Daddy went to work already?
Bryan: Why so early?
Mommy: Daddy has a lot of work to do?
Bryan: Why at night work work work, earlyg morning also work work work. You tell daddy ah, next time at night cannot work.
Mommy: Then morning can work or not?
Bryan: *think* Emm…morning only can work. Night cannot.

If he knew that Daddy went for dinner & drinks with his colleagues last night, I think daddy will kena again. OOpss… tonight daddy got another appointment and this time, most probably he’ll come home late. Worse, daddy forgot that he will be coming home late again tonight and promised Bryan that he will read Bryan’s favourite mandarin story book with him tonight.

Daddy, be warned, Bryan is sure gonna nag you tomoro morning!

Bryan: Eh mommy, why we come to see Dr Wei? I am not sick. *touches his forehead*
Me: You are not sick. Daddy is sick. Daddy wants to see Dr Wei.
Bryan: Daddy you sick ah? Daddy, you didn’t drink a lot of water issit? Why you so naughty? You see I drink a lot of water. I am not sick (*touches his own forehead again*). I got no fever…
Daddy: *roll eyes*

He was so happy to see the egg tart.

Since he is so happy, I gave him the responsibility to carry the tupperware to the car.

You can see that he really treasured the egg tart. He held it in both hands and held it really tightly.

When we reached our apartment grounds, hubb picked Bryan up to take him to our car. I offered to carry the tupperware from him. Bryan refused immediately.

When we reached our car, hubb tried to take the tupperware away from Bryan so that he can put Bryan into the car seat and strap him up. Bryan said “MAI” (NO).

When hubb continued to try to take the tupperware away from him, Bryan got angry. And since he is holding the tupperware with both his hands, he cannot hit hubb with his hands. So Bryan use his head to give hubb a hard knock on the head.

When we reached my mom’s place, Bryan said bye bye to us. When i asked him to give us a flying kiss, he just stared at the tupperware in his hand,…wondering how to do it without letting go of the tupperware.

You say this boy “tam chiak” or not…hahahaha

About 2 weeks ago, we were at Borders. We took Bryan to Borders’ children section. There was a little girl of about 7 reading at one of the tables at that section.

The moment we got there, Bryan walked towards the little girl and said, “Hi.”

Unfortunately for him, the girl chose to ignore him. He continued to smile at the girl and tried to make “small talk” with the girl.

After a while, I think the girl got a bit uncomfortable and left the table.

So Bryan played by himself and busied himself exploring the books there. Within a short while, he found the little girl and her younger sister at the front of the children’s section.

So he wandered towards them and tried to start a “conversation” again with them.

Hahaha…obviously, this is a boy who doesn’t give up easily. But he still has lots of room to improve when it comes to his pickup skills….hehehe.

For the first time since Bryan was born, hubb and I managed to watch a movie undisturbed from beginning to finish. We watched Night at the Museum after we tucked Bryan to bed.

After we finished watching the movie, while I put away some things, hubb went to check on Bryan.

I heard a soft cry from Bryan’s room, so I went to peek at the door. I heard.

Bryan: Star, star (sitting up and pointing to the ceiling)
Hubb: “Star” your head la. Go back to sleep. (Gently push Bryan back to bed)
Bryan: Bye Bye (wave to the ceiling and lie down to sleep).

Bryan went back to sleep in no time. Sweet dreams. Sweet starry dreams.

Sis told me that Bryan is probably the only kid in the world who finds Happy Feet a not so happy watch.

She played the movie for him during the day today and Bryan was interested in the movie. Then after a few moments, there was a scene where the penguins traveled in the snow storm. I think he found it scary, and he started crying then.

Another 10 mins or so later, there was a scene where the baby penguin (I haven’t watched the movie so I don’t know the characters’ names) cried for his mother. And Bryan went, “Mama, mama” and started crying.

My family found his antics amusing and they continued playing the movie for a while. Sometimes even in the middle of a happy scene, Bryan’s face will suddenly turn sad, cry, and he’ll go, “Mama mama.”

Then, i dare not let Bryan play with mine, coz it is a flip phone and i was afraid Bryan will break it. Furthermore, when the flip is closed, there is nothing interesting and Bryan diden like it anyway.

Then about a month ago, i bought a new phone. It is a slide phone and the hp sellers downloaded a lot of MP3 songs in it for me.

Since it is now a slide phone, i figured that Bryan can play with it now, afterall the dial buttons are hidden.

So one day, i turned on the MP3 player for him. There is a Donald Duck singing “Deck the halls.” And Bryan loved it…

So i downloaded a few more kiddie songs for him. Now he doesn’t want his daddy’s phone anymore. Only mine. And he’ll go “Duck Duck” each time he’s in the car with me, when i am next to him, or whenever he sees my HP.

I was trying to video him walking around on Sunday at the mall and this is his reaction when he sees my HP.

We like to go to Tesco because there are ample parking, and we can put Bryan into the trolley the moment we arrive. So we do not need to push the stroller around. Right now, we are still discouraging Bryan from walking around at the stores. Although he can walk steadily now, he occasionally will still walk with a drunken stupor and may knock into things.

And especially in the store where people are pushing trolleys around, it can be pretty dangerous for a toddler.

So now, Bryan calls all shopping malls Tesco.

SIL took him to Gurney Plaza on Saturday. The moment SIL enter the basement parking, Bryan went, “Adjo, adjo.” Then nobody in the car knew what he was talking about, and they joked that he was speaking Japanese.

Yesterday night, we took him to Queensbay mall. And as we enter the car park, he went, “Adjo, adjo” again.

The moment CY walked in, Bryan eyed the plastic bag containing the box of salted chicken.

When CY placed the box of chicken on the dining table, Bryan looked at him sweetly and said, “mum-mum.”

Sis laughed at Bryan and said that he is such a realist.

Then Bryan walked to the dining table and said loudly, “MUM-MUM” insisting that we feed him the items in the box.

How did he figured out that it is food? The chicken was cold by then and therefore there wasn’t any strong smell to it. Only possibility is — Bryan is a waisek (love to eat) bb boy. But then, aren’t all babies are….
