Just Mickey & me

Nothing special. Since I have so many candles leftover from the mooncake festival, I thought i will buy Bryan some cake to make him happy. Let him play pretend that it is his birthday.

The cake just cost RM2, but the pleasure of seeing him enjoying the cake……PRICELESS!

Stickers are for…

Can stick on the left eye

Stick on both eyes, like eye mask

Make mummy laugh with the silly poses

But it is no fun to play with stickers alone. So…

Dylan, you must join the fun as well!

Mid Autumn Lantern Festival

We normally go to MIL for dinner on Saturdays. But last Saturday, we changed it into lunch so that the kids can stay at home to play with lanterns. There are a lot of kids around Bryan’s age staying near our house. So it will be very lau-juak (merry) if all the kids come out to play.

Unfortunately, it rained. So there were no kids playing outside. But we still let Bryan played at the porch.

We had bought a pack of Disney paper lanterns for him. Actually I wanted to buy the regular traditional lanterns nia..but Bryan spotted this pack and insisted that we buy this instead.

Guess, which lantern design he spotted, and which one is his favorite? Look carefully…

You’re right, the Disney Princess lantern. Actually he was attracted by Snow White, one of his fav Disney character.

Ok la. To be fair, he also played with the Mickey Mouse lantern.

This is actually the first year that we let Bryan play with the candle type lanterns. Both hubb and I have always preferred these to the electronic ones. We purposely select the bigger ones so that there are less chances of it catching fire.

Yup, so even though Bryan was swinging his lanterns around, it did not catch fire.

Dylan, meanwhile is too young to play with candles and lanterns. But we hang a few lantern around our porch and he was contented to see the lit up lanterns swaying about in the wind. His big kor-kor also help to entertain him from time to time.

The weather was better on Sunday night – which is the official Mid-Autumn festival night. And my neighbor’s kids come out to play that night.

Dylan, being the youngest kid on the block was an instant hit with my neighbor’s kids. In fact, I think all of them knew my kiddo’s names, while I am still struggling to remember theirs. *shame on me*

The lantern celebration at my old apartment have always been merry with lots of kids playing at the garden. I am glad to see that the lantern celebration at my new house is equally as merry.

We took the boys for a walk around the neighborhood. The weather was cool and comfy, so comfy for Dylan that he dozes off not long after we walked around.

Little KPC

I was unpacking some items from a box and this little KPC wanna join in the fun as well.

I had placed him quite far away from the box but the moment he sees the box, he started crawling towards me.

He did have a good 10 mins or so exploring the box. Turning the box around… Touching here, feeling there.

Dylan, so nice to play meh?

Food

It used to be so easy to feed Bryan when he was small but now he is such a picky eater.

Give him what he wants, and he can wallop almost as much as I can eat in a regular meal.

Last Sunday, hubb took Bryan for a haircut. He loves haircut because it will be followed with a meal at McD afterwards. So he is always looking forward to haircuts.

Anyway, as usual hubb ordered the fillet’O fish value meal and exchanged the drink to a milo. Hubb just a burger for himself thinking that he will share the drink & fries with Bryan. But no…

Bryan first walloped the entire pack of fries (almost)….
Then the fish burger…
And finishes off with the cup of iced milo…

If he already can eat a McD value meal almost all by himself before he reaches 3! How many burgers do we need to feed him when he is 6?

Bryan’s 34 month update

In another 2 months and he will be 3 years old.

  • Despite down with flu & cough, his weight went up. He is now 14 kg. He was stuck at 13kg for a couple of months *poor baby*
  • Loves flash cards. I bought those cheapo RM1.90/ set flash cards from Tesco when he was a small baby last time. But I didn’t really use them as Bryan will grab and crumple them up when I show them to him. Now he loves them. Each set has 32 cards. We have opened 3 sets to play in the last 2 weeks or so and I think he can read about 80% of the words shown to him.
  • Because of the flash cards game. I realized that he can now recognize and read many 4 or more syllable words very clearly eg: Hippopotamus, Armadillo, Sapodilla, Alligator, Rhinocerous, Orang Utan, …
  • In fact for most of the animals & fruits, he is able to tell us the mandarin equivalent of it as well.
  • I need to go find some cheapo mandarin flash cards for him now. :-D .
  • Loves to read books now. I have to read to him every night before he goes to sleep.
  • Learning to negotiate. “If I cannot have this, can I have that”

He drives me nuts some of the time, but when i am angry with him, he knows just how to make me smile and happy again. He can be such a dear. He’s truly my dear dear. I love you, dear Bryan.

Dylan’s 6 mth update

Let’s see what happened this month.

  • Dylan is now 7kg. Another healthy 500gm weight gain over last month.
  • Wants to participate in what big bro Bryan does nowadays. Bryan play this, he wanna play this also. Play that, wanna play also. How to play? We just have to carry him near to Bryan and let him pat pat or hit hit the toys.
  • Drools less, am able to swallow his saliva. Another sign that he’s ready for more food.
  • Grabs our food, and hand when we are eating or drinking. But his first solid session was a failure. He did not like the food offered to him.
  • Can go to sleep by himself. This one, I diden purposely train one, but trained due to unavoidable circumstances – when I am busy with his Bryan or I am so tired that I have gone to sleep myself, sleeping next to him of coz!
  • He can sit up by himself, using his arms for balancing.

What are friends for?

Hubb’s conversation with Bryan some time ago…

Hubb: En See* chuo sen mo te? (What is En See for)
Bryan: Nar lai kan te (to see one)
Hubb: Ah Yue* nar lai chuo sen mo te?
Bryan: Nar lai tah te (to hit one)
Hubb: Ah Fong* nar lai chuo sen mo te?
Bryan: Nar lai ti te (to kick one)

* More Info:
En See: a cute little girl who plays with Bryan a lot – Bryan’s classmate
Ah Yue: Also a cute little girl. But this one fights a lot with Bryan. I started getting reports from his teacher that Bryan fights with this girl a lot within the first week of him starting school.
Ah Fong: Ah Yue’s elder brother. Also fight with Bryan one.
